LCL CARGO

*LCL Cargo Services* = Less than Container Load shipping. You share container space with other shippers instead of booking a full container. *How it works:* 1. *Consolidation*: Your goods go to a CFS - Container Freight Station - where they’re combined with other LCL shipments going to the same destination port 2. *Container stuffing*: Freight forwarder loads multiple shippers’ cargo into one 20ft/40ft container 3. *Ocean freight*: Container moves port-to-port like FCL 4. *Deconsolidation*: At destination CFS, container is opened and cargo separated for each consignee *When LCL makes sense:* - *Volume*: 1 CBM to 15 CBM. Above ∼15 CBM, FCL usually becomes cheaper - *Weight*: Up to ∼10-12 MT depending on commodity - *Cost*: You pay only for space you use, not whole container - *Frequency*: Good if you don’t have enough volume to fill FCL regularly
